What I mean is - not myself publishing commercial walk books - I have no plans
to do that - but *existing* commercial publishers of walk books (of which
there are plenty) *using* OSM-derived maps for *their* commercial products,
rather than Ordnance Survey maps. In this scenario, the licencing that would
suit both the publisher and OSM would be one where the *maps* themselves
would remain free (i.e. the publisher couldn't prevent someone photocopying
the *maps*), yet the remainder of the book could be under whatever copyright
suited the publisher. i.e. the OSM licence doesn't "spread" to the rest of
the book.
Not sure what you mean about it not being a good business model; plenty of
publishers sell walking guidebooks. Using OSM maps rather than OS maps would
save them money. And increase publicity for OSM :-)
