I used Linux at home but tested this on Windows at work. A clic on the 
zoom button take more than 10 seconds to be effective. Just hovering the 
mouse over the map put the CPU usage at 100%

This is with FireFox 2 rc1.


With Firefox 1.5 (I only just test it on a coworker PC) everything is 
ok. I don't know if RC1 still have debug flags turned on, or if this is 
the new features that made it so slow (text rendering along paths)
