Instead of looking at it later, it might be better to check for obvious
problems right as you enter them.
E.g.: I *frequently* select a few segments and add name and highway tags
to them, instead of adding a way first. While I had a deeper look at the
Nürnberg map, it seems I'm not the only one making that mistake ;-)
As adding a highway tag to a segment is probably always wrong, having at
least a warning - or probably something like: "do you want me to add a
way first?" kind of question would make a lot more sense in my eyes than
to manually check and fix things "later".
I know that this is not possible for all tags (e.g. some tags are
possible for nodes, segments and ways) and it's probably not even
desirable for all tags.
But having - where possible and useful - something like a "syntax check"
right while you are editing seems a lot more time saving than to check
things afterwards.
