The Validator plugin will quickly show in JOSM you where there is 
duplication.

For duplicate nodes, the plugin could fix the problem.

To delete a whole way and it's nodes, you could drag them in the middle 
of nowhere to select/delete them easily. Or if the nodes are not 
taggued, delete the way and then use the Validator plugin to find and 
delete "unconnected and untagged nodes".
