One of the reasons I'm opposed to abutters is that you're entering 
presentation hints - not semantic information - so you're not really adding 
to the richness of the dataset. A residential road to me is actually a 
semantic classification. And I think most councils in the UK class 
residential roads differently to just small generic roads.
