IMHO, the OSM data has an accuracy of <15 meters (the accuracy of a typical
GPS unit), and any feature smaller than 20-30 meters should be ignored
(unless it has some special relevance).
So, I'm not mapping any parking space, any trash bin, any set of traffic
lights. They're so small that I don't mind about them.
However, subway entrances can be quite far apart (150 meters). AND they serve
as landmarks ("I'll date you at the Foobar Metro station, just outside the
southern entrance")
Thus, my opinion is that subway entrnces are relevant and should be mapped.

Just imagine that we are in year 2030, and OSM has covered 100% of the
earth... We sure will start mapping light poles and trash bins around ;-)
