[OSM-talk] Advantage of not using IE?

I've been having a look at running my own server and actually got round
to looking at the current map page.
At the bottom you have the message about 'adverts' but it's small and so
I had not really noticed it. The interesting think is - I never see
adverts either logged in or not. Is this just an advantage of not using
IE? Or is there a 'fault' with the adverts meaning we don't need the
message either?
