[OSM-talk] Hosting OSM yourself?

Hi there,
I was just wondering is it possible to host OSM maps and the slippymap
stuff yourself under the current licence?
I'm just thinking in terms of limiting "points of failure" for the
system I'm working on and it would be nice if the maps could be hosted
with the application, thus meaning if one's up they're both up.
I suppose, leading on from this question, what makes up the map server
in terms of applications and data?
Cheers,
Phil.
