Yes, as Ray has just pointed out in another email, its much more reliable to
split long ways into multiple ways, principally because it reduces the
possibility of corruption due to coding bugs while the platform is still
young. It will be relatively easy to join up ways with common attributes in
the future if that is desired.

There is no ideal length for a single way, just keep them manageable.
