Hi,
I have some newbie OSM questions. I apologize if the following
concerns have been discussed already. I have been browsing the mail
archive and the OSM wiki for some answers but I can't seem to find the
answers.
1. How do I configure JOSM in windows with a proxy server with
username and password?
2. I'm having difficulty uploading my tracks, the email I received
says it cannot properly parse my tracks. However, I can easily
display them in JOSM, is it OK to create/edit nodes, segments and ways
without uploading the gps track in OSM?
3. I also have some old GPS tracks I gathered before, however the file
is in UTM Zone 51N, is there a way to convert the tracks to lat/lon?
4. My Ubuntu dapper machine cannot download tracks from my GARMIN
etrex, I'm using GPSBabel Version 1.2.7 from the ubuntu repository.
Ubuntu detects dev/ttyS0 (I only have 1 serial port) but downloads
takes very long compared to just a few seconds when I used gpsbabel in
windows. Following the How_to_get_data_from_a_Geko_201 in the wiki, I
have the following script:
#!/bin/bash
filename="`date +%y%m%d-%H%M`"
echo "creating $filename-waypoints.gpx"
gpsbabel -i garmin -f /dev/ttyS0 -o gpx -F $filename-waypoints.gpx
sleep 2
echo "creating $filename-tracklog.gpx"
gpsbabel -t -i garmin -f /dev/ttyS0 -o gpx -F $filename-tracklog.gpx
Lastly, I have been editing Metro Manila, Philippines along with Mike
Collinson (http://labs.metacarta.com/osm/?lat=1629479.82233&lon=13480446.42214&zoom=10&layers=B00).
We hope more would contribute in these areas.
Cheers,
Maning
