Would anyone with either graphic design knowledge or working on the
various rendering package options give any guidelines on producing
useful (non SVG) icons for OSM use?

o Basic spec - .png with transparency ?

o Size - 30x30 and/or 90x90 ?

o Just one size or would a set for different rendering purposes by
more useful?

o Any tips on anti-aliasing ?

o Any tips on colour palette ?

FYI, these are my targets ... if they are within my somewhat modest
graphic artist abilities: Petrol station, fast food, supermarket,
bank, atm, toilets, school, bbq, picnic site + various sports. They
don't seem to exist yet on any OSM-related pages I've trolled through.
