[OSM-talk] JOSM

Using JOSM tonight made me wonder about a "select none" feature that would clear selections of ways, points, nodes as I have conflict when adding ways. It's still thinking I'm on a previous way or at other times in JOSM segments that are highlighted "white" that are parts of multiple ways but I can't unselect them to add current way, etc. Or I have added way, now I want to add another so the program decides to include the previous way and doesn't give a visual notification of when it has added a way and is ready to add another. At least with select none I know I can start fresh adding a new way or selecting segment chains without a spillover from a previous action that is affecting a current action (adding a way) and no indication as to previous or current condition (has it added the way, why are all the segments in multiple way still selected, does it think I'm adding to the previous way? or a new one?), How about a "clear" button. Mayby I'm not clear, but this is as clear as I can be without being able to program.
Suugestion esoteric as it may be. "program loop" --add way?-- current one done? --move on to next? --clear state? --give visual indication? --reselect current action! i.e adding ways is active button -- when notified about next way being added pop up the "you mean these" --again! ((and add (new) way) ) and repeat above infinite number of times".
