Hello folks,
I apologize if this is a really dumb or RTFM question.
I have just discovered OSM and really appreciate the
efforts being made by folks. I have been looking for
a way to create professional looking maps of roads on
my parent's country land. This looks to be ideal AND
at the same time I can additionally contribute my
travels in Northeast Georgia as well as when I travel
around for business.
However I seem to have missed one key point about
getting started. I created a GPX file from my GPS
data and uploaded it. In both the online editor and
JOSM I don't seem to be able to connect the track
points. Is it correct that I have to insert a node at
each track point? WOuld have thought that it was
possible to use the exact GPS track without having to
manually insert nodes.
It seems the JOSM might be my perferred method since
it will allow me to do editing while on air travel or
in hotels w/o internet access.
Am I missing something? Any advise would be
appreciated.
Regards,
Robert
