[OSM-talk] Elevated highways

Hi folks,

I'm mapping an elevated highway, and I'm wondering how to tag it. Of
course, it has to be layer=1 so that everything underneath goes
underneath. But should it also be bridge=yes for its whole length? Or
should it only be bridge=yes where it crosses something else? Or not at
all? What is the standard?

On another note, is there anything that can be done about the seam that
appears (in osmarender output) when a road changes from one layer to
another? (For example, a way which has no layer tag joined to a way with
layer=1 because it's a bridge.)

Thanks,
Adrian
