Has anyone set up a site with either a Google API map or an OpenLayers 
map where you can switch between Google and OSM maps? That would make 
comparison so much easier. Could a Google layer be added to 
informationfreeway.org or are there technical (legal, political?) obstacles?

Would it even be possible to display two maps side by side, and whenever 
you zoom/pan in one of them, adjust the other as well?
