welcome back :-)

The GPX imports of old are on the whole not all currently visible in the
Edit window (or available via the API) . When the Rails Port (API 0.4)
changes were made they included a re-import for the whole of the GPX file
base, however some problems occurred and this process is currently halted,
therefore for the time being the most reliable way is to use your original
gpx files on your own within JOSM.

The editing interface (now using Potlatch) should be available to you from
http://www.openstreetmap.org/edit.html once you are logged in.
