To me, playground indicates some sort of equipment such as swings,
see-saws, etc.  "common" is I believe a UK-specific legal term for an
area that anyone can use for any(?) purpose.  I'm really unsure about
"garden" -- does this mean a vegetable garden, or does it mean what in
the US would be called a "yard" (i.e. a grass area connected to a house,
possibly fenced)?
