I've added Dave's patch.

It now renders a few more ways, like rivers.

I also improved the routing. It can e.g. now calculate the 770km route
between Cape Town and Port Elisabeth. It can also generate simple
driving directions and differenciate between motorcar and bicycle.

It can optimise for distance or time traveled, but the weightings
(speed) may be off and there is no penalty for intersections (esp.
turning across traffic).

To improve the routing (and rendering) further, it would be nice if
someone can compile an artificial osm file that tests all variations
with notes on what results should be expected.

New sourcecode is at www.rational.co.za/gosmore.cc and you will have to rebuild.
