It's not a new problem, it's just that the IE7 problems are not
completely solved yet. It is reliable in IE6 now I believe and is
better in IE7 but not perfect.

It isn't shift-drag specific - zooming in other way also does it
sometimes.

Basically something is causing the height of the DIV that contains
the map to be reduced to zero, hence the thick black line.

Not making the DIV absolutely positioned fixes it, but then the map
doesn't fit in the page right. I think I need to rework the page
completely to try and use dynamic layout instead of positioning
everything absolutely and then trying to resize it when the window
is resized. I haven't had time to look at it properly yet though.
