[OSM-talk] Bringing OSM to walkers - countering negative attitudes

Has anyone thought of combining mapping with geocaching?
You could do some marketing to the geocachers (use
http://www.geocaching.com and http://www.gagb.org.uk) by pointing out
which caches in the area for them to find while visiting for the mapping
weekend. The geocaching.com database let's you add a location where an
event is going to be.
Here's an idea even... When the area is divided up, place a new cache in
each section and who ever does that section gets the cache details for
the chance of FTF(first to find) before they are actually published on
the geocaching.com website as a permanent cache.
Of course that takes some time to set up but hopefully could be done in
much less time than it takes to be mapping the area, maybe people should
state if they want to geocache so you know how many sections need one.
