[OSM-talk] Incorrect Downloading of GPS Points in JOSM

looks like you might need to turn off the connecting lines between the
GPS Data points in JOSM.  What it would appear is that when
downloading the points from the server they all got sorted by lat and
lon, instead of being in original Date order.
