Hello everyone,
Spent this decidedly nasty (well it was here, anyway) Sunday doing a few
updates to the point of interest editor I announced on Friday.
You can add or edit points of interest using a background map which can be one
of osmarender/tiles at home, Freemap, New Popular Edition and now Landsat. For
the Freemap, New Popular Edition and Landsat modes you can also add or edit
polygons, whilst in osmarender mode you're restricted at the moment to points
of interest. This nonetheless makes the osmarender mode relatively fast and
light; it's intended to be specialised for adding city POIs such as
restaurants, post boxes, etc.
Full tag editing is now supported. You can either use a high level type,
selectable from a drop down list, for a POI (e.g. wood, pub, restaurant,
etc), or you can add, edit or delete tags. Note that if you use high level
types, any existing tags, besides "name", "note", "created_by" or "source"
will be deleted.
It's available at
http://www.free-map.org.uk/freemap/edit.php
(you need to login with your OSM details)
Only tested on Firefox at the moment.
Nick
