Personally, I've been consistent in my inconsistency. If I have time, I do the lot; if not, I do the A to B ones only; but never anything in between. The rationale being the some day someone will put the lot in and it gives a good impression of what a park is like - a huge open field or something more complex. I'd predict that gradually we'll move from macro to micro mapping as the major tasks complete and contributor numbers increase, so may as well start now.
