[OSM-talk] WDB II rivers

Today I converted some of the data from the CIA WDB II data into OSM
files ready to open in JOSM. Specifically, I did the North American
rivers data. It turns out that it's not very accurate, but you might
find they provide a useful starting point.

you can download a tarball containing about 1300 .osm files. Each one
corresponds to a "Segment" of the WDB data. The filenames consist of
the lat/lon boundaries of that segment, so you should be able to find
the river you're interested in with just a little bit of work.

Please don't just start uploading these files. They're not good enough
for that. Load the file in JOSM, load Landsat images for the area, and
start moving nodes.

The tarball is here: http://www.somethingnew.ca/files/narivers.tar.gz
and you can read more about the data source here:
