[OSM-talk] Tool to change tag names in a given area?

Hello everyone,

Not sure if such a tool exists but is there a way I can change all instances 
of a given tag *name* in a given bounding box? 

For example (see post to dev and assuming the problem there can't be easily 
resolved) can I change all instances of the 'newforest_pathtype' tag to 
'nfpathtype'?
