You do realise that there are already daily dumps for scandiavia on hypercube:
http://hypercube.telascience.org/planet/
http://hypercube.telascience.org/planet/planet-scand-latest.osm.gz

This together with osm2pgsql will get you a handful of tables a DB,
one for points, one for areas and two for linear features (roads and
other).
