[OSM-talk] tagging long distance footpaths (and other named footpaths)

Any suggestions as to what tag to use to name long distance footpaths. The
one in question at times follows roads and also national and regional cycle
routes.

 

As with roads and cycle-ways there are national footpaths (Pedlars Way etc
in the UK) there are regional and also local ones.  Sometimes one stretch of
path may be on two different networks as well as being part of the national
cycle route or whatever.

 

It might be good to have different tags for national, regional and local
paths and be able to draw them using different colours as is done with cycle
routes?
