This is not only a trust building issue, it let's co-mappers see easily who's active in certain areas.

This is a valid point, and I kind of like the way, (at least some) users are appreciated and shown on the map.

I don't think this way of rendering can ever fulfill our coopyright/attribution requirements, so I think we shouldn't even try to make it do so. It's virtually impossible to add the names of all contributors next to features that have been added. You'll have to do the same thing for all amenities etc. and you'll have to look up the history of everything for every render.
