[OSM-talk] How do you respond to talk posts so that that they fit correctly into the thread structure in talk archive?

Different mail clients handle threading differently and some are more clever than others. The most reliable way is if a reply can refer to the mail id that is sent in the original mail header. This won't work for you as the digest throws away the original mail ids.

Some clients als analyse the subject line and if they see a "Re: subject" they sort it as a reply to thread "subject" (although they cannot know which mail in thread subject it is a reply to). This seems to not work in your mail client, but it might be that it works in other clients.
To cut a long story short, it's quite difficult from a digest to reconstruct the threading structure.
