Google Maps have 100 million users per day which helps! Contribution  
levels to People's Map seem very low.

If we need good aerial photography then we can get it purchased for  
urban areas as long as the area is reasonably compact. I have set up a  
wiki page where people can say what they want and why and then go  
hunting for sponsors. The cost for a town is about £1000, for the  
whole of the West Midlands Urban conurbation it is about £6K.
