Heh, you beat me to the announcement.

I’m delighted to say that Potlatch 1.1 - special commemorative SOTM edition
- is now live, and there’s loads of new stuff.

== Drag-and-drop points of interest ==

The basics of OSM editing are now easier than ever:

1. Drag a lovely colourful point of interest onto the right place on the map
2. Save
3. Er, that’s it

I did think about putting ??? and “PROFIT!” in there but I’ll leave that to
the CM guys. But many thanks to one such guy, Matt, for his splendid icons.

== Photo-mapping ==

You can now do photo-mapping with Potlatch. Just click the camera icon, and
it’ll talk to your favourite online photo storage service to get pictures.

By default it uses openstreetphoto.org - so many thanks to Stefan de Konink
(you may want to print that sentence out and frame it) for that. OSP’s
coverage is only beginning but, coincidentally, I believe there’s some good
pictures in Amsterdam. It reads a subset of KML, so you can set up your own
site, and I know John McKerrell is working on one such right now.

== TIGER fixup ==

There’s two new features to help you fix up the US TIGER data.

A new option will automatically highlight all unaltered TIGER data; select
it in the usual options dialogue.

There’s also a ‘tidy’ tool for those TIGER streets which should be straight,
but aren’t. Select the way, make sure the start and end points are the same,
and click the ... icon (or press T). The way will be straightened and any
unnecessary points removed.

Plus there's a whole bunch of little fixes which I'm sure you'll enjoy
finding. As ever, feedback very welcome.

cheers
Richard
