[OSM-talk] Building a paper globe

Hi all

I would like to build an OSM printed paper globe.
It should be made out of 2 sheets of A3 paper - A3 (297mm × 420mm) is
the maximum size the color printer is able to handle.

The globe will be a Dodecahedron

Or maybe this form:

I already found a similar project:

Now the problem:

How can I do that? How to print the OSM Map to my Dodecahedron?

I can't use the normal tiles - they have wrong projection.
For me that looks like lots of mathematics.

I think PDF or PS (Vector data) would be better print quality than JPG.

Maybe there is a genius out there who is able to provide a pdf.

thanks

Bernhard
