Sending again with spreadsheet in .ods instead of .xls to pass
(hopefully) under the 40k limit for the list.

Anybody who is fluent with wiki, feel free to put it there.

Hi,

Awaiting an answer to know whether it is ok to disclose publicly a
shared spreadsheet on CrisisMapper, I am forwarding a copy of the
spreadsheet to OSM-talk, for help in locating these Hospitals.

(I am not aware of a license problem in looking up addresses in G. (yet
?), in case it could be useful. Please let me know if I am being overly
naive.)

I think its best to enter the hospitals in OSM as you find them. (And
coordinate on IRC to avoid duplicate work.)
I used an address=* tag to store the spreadsheet's addresses in OSM.
Use the spreadsheet file name as source:address (i just made this up,
hope it's ok).

I hope there will be a good solution to collect them in the shared
spreadsheet later.

Thanks,

Jean-Guilhem

Added Hopital Sainte-Croix / Léogane's address in OSM, as well as
Hospital Bon Samaritain / Limbé.

Added coordinates of Hopital Sacré Coeur / Milot from OSM into the
spreadsheet.

Questions :

- Hasn't it been said somewhere in this group that standard coordinates
order should be lat / lon ? (apologies if I am wrong)
(It is lon / lat in the spreadsheet
https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0ArlMTYEgfvwsdERtTkxRUVVqRXdpVzlDSlFnb3F1UHc&hl=en)

- (I have no experience in crisis management) : should this spreadsheet
been shared on the public mailing list OSM-talk ?
(pros that I can think of : more pairs of eyes, possibly of Haitians
that could help localization,
cons that I can think of : security)

- How are updates to this spreadsheet going to be notified, eg for
inclusion in OSM ?

Thank you,

Jean-Guilhem Cailton

PS : Oh, reading the mails below again, I see that a possible source for
the coordinates is mentioned.
Still sending this mail as the questions may have a more general interest.
And going to export the spreadsheet to OSM-talk for help in looking up
coordinates.
