May I humbly suggest that, as the lead author of one of OSM's main
editors, you at least look at the competition? I mean I don't demand
that you use it, or understand it - but it would be really good if any
contributor to a major editor would at least have an idea of how the
basic OSM elements look in the other major editors.
This is not a competition where nobody is allowed to look at what the
others do. If every contributor to an editor could copy what's good in
the others and avoid the mistakes made by them...
Of course, most of the highly complex and convoluted errors that can be
achieved with JOSM are completely out of reach for users of a meagre
toolset like Potlatch ;-)
That being said; JOSM used to have a "glow" around everything that was a
member of any relation but that has been removed a while ago. I don't
know why, actually, it seemed like a pretty good idea. They must have
copied it from somewhere.
