I think that it is probably safe to predict that the general public won't be able to update this map, at least not without government censors checking the proposed updates.

Just spotted this on the BBC:
"China has launched an official online mapping service called Map World.
The web-based service gives people access to increasingly detailed satellite
images of China and high-level images of other nations."
