[OSM-talk] Help with Garmin nuvifone G60

Hi, I'm new to the list so please excuse me if this is an old question. I live in California but am going to Germany for a short vacation. I created and downloaded the .img file from the server and installed it in the /Garmin directory of the G60 gmapsupp.img I believe I named it. I've read that you cannot search for a location using these maps so I tried entering coordinates directly into the GPS however it still does not find anything but the base map. How can I tell if the maps are functional?
