Based on the success, and incredible fun of the OSM Hacking Weekends
in London, a bunch of OSMers in the US have decided to ruthlessly
steal the idea and try runnong one ourselves.

GeoIQ has generously donated their conference room in their office in
downtown Arlington, Virginia.

The dates: February 18th and 19th, 2012
The place: Arlington, VA (right outside Washington, DC)

Please sign up at the Eventbrite page:

http://osmhackweekenddc2012.eventbrite.com/

This is the first time that the OSM developer community has made a
concious effort to come together and put on an event like this, and we
want it to be a success, so whether you're a seasoned OSM developer or
a noob who wants to see what he can help fix, come join us!

And if you are a seasoned developer, consider running a 5-15 minute
workshop. Previous topics have included git, Potlatch 2 development,
and the Rails port.

If there's something specific you want to work on, add it to the Wiki page at:

http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/DC_Hack_weekend_Feb_2012

so we can coordinate our efforts.

I expect to see everyone from the US developer community there, as
well as some of you Brits and Europeans who came to the London Hack
Weekend!
