Technically, the reverter does pretty much that: Upload the version
before the problematic change (this creates a new version and extends
the object history like a normal changeset, there is no server magic
for reverting). One exception are objects that have been created in
the bad changeset: There is no previous version, so they are just
deleted by the reverter.

Whenever there are already changes by other users on top of the bad
changeset ("dirty revert"), you'll get notified by the plugin
(conflicts are created).
