[OSM-talk] Suburb place tags together with boundary tags

Recently I uploaded the suburb boundaries of Helsingborg municipality in
Sweden. This is the relevant changeset:
http://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/34204647 Relevant example:
http://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/5525185

They are tagged place=suburb; boundary=administrative; admin_level=9;
name=* together with some other internal tags from the municipality.

The problem I'm having is that now the suburbs only render on the boundary
lines, instead of a bigger label in the middle of each suburb, as before.
This might lead to some confusion since smaller neighbourhoods are rendered
"normally" (http://www.openstreetmap.org/node/3759191657 for instance), and
suburb names can't be seen if you don't zoom in on the borders.

Is this in some way faulty tagging or is it an issue with rendering? I have
seen that some relations of this kind use a centroid role in the relation,
but I'm not sure how established that is. From what I've read it's
discouraged.

Ideas?

/Andreas
