This is a straw man argument. No icons has been removed and it was not
even proposed, it's just about moving initial zoom levels and it's
enough. "Small" is not "invisible".

Nothing proposed in a month long debate was more objective and
universal. But maybe your proposition would be better - who knows, you
can try.

It would help to resolve urban/outdoor issue, but we currently don't
know how to detect when we could render things earlier without
cluttering the space.

Of course there is no hint, since objects of this size just don't belong
here. The same is true for benches for example.

Time will tell. However it took me many months to understand how we
could deal with non obvious problems and size rule seems to be the best
tool to avoid "importance wars".
