I would not assume that they have good maps.
2) even if they have good maps - then one of traditional strengths of defenders is being
better informed thanks to preexisting knowledge and info passed by population
supporting them.
Mapping Ukraine would be likely more helpful to invading Russians than Ukrainians
(both armed forces and civilians).
