I'll probably add gasoline to the fire. I apologize in advance. Don't hold
it against me.

After some minutes of brainstorming we arrive with:
>

Maybe in this case that involves the community it would be worth talking to
the community? Don't look for a solution by yourself?

Facilitate a framework to use localized styles for osm-carto: e.g. a Polish
> variant of the style could show parcel lockers on zoom levels only showing
> parts of Poland, without showing parcal lockers elsewehere and so on.

Does no one here read with understanding? Polish community is not about
parcel machines. We are concerned about the way the style is managed and
the lack of rules on which it should be managed. Parcel machines only
showed the problem. (By the way, in the UK there are going to be 10 000 of
them by 2024, so it is "only" our Polish issue).

Offer universal vector tiles, i.e. vector tiles that everywhere contain all

"More is less" It's really not about showing everything. I agree that the
style is overloaded in places. Daniel wrote exactly what I meant:

1) Since OSM is growing, it is not possible to use one size to fit all
> (growing number of users and uses) and it's not easy to provide resources
> to support them (growing number of data).

I realize the technical limitations and necessary resources it takes to
create and render styles, which means we can't have 10 on the home page
because we can't afford it. (In the early days of the war in Ukraine, we
created a style covering Poland in Ukrainian to help our Ukrainian
visitors, I know what a strain on our resources it was).

But maybe we should think about what we want to convey through our main
site and how to show it. In my opinion, this is where the discussion should
start.

and finally

Before putting this on public consultation we should ask the current
> maintainers of osm-carto first what they think about the various ideas and
> add their ideas to improve the situation.

I am very curious about this response, I hope it will be published. Because
all attempts to communicate at the community level have ended in a wall of
text without any action. I also sincerely hope that this communication will
not last a year or two.
