I guess installing Tilemill does bring in carto, but I had thought of 
tilemill as more of a side-branch.

I've thought about Tirex, mainly to avoid renderd.conf. Of course, that 
doesn't make package management or upgrading any easier than renderd from 
source.

I've been including that with renderd, but if I had Tirex I think I'd have 
to add it as another item.
