If you're using the database to render a map with the common OSM features,
--match-only is never going to do much. If you decided to do something
like create a map without buildings, you're probably not going to get much
benefit from it. Of course, with the building example you'd probably also 
get similar benefits from adding building to the style as delete and also
adding the non-standard imported tags in France.
