Hi Guys,
I realize this is a big ask but maybe someone with access to openstreet.org
tile servers can "cd" into the mod_tile directory and run
"find -type f | gzip -9vc > tilenames.zip"
If you could do that for a couple of main openstreetmap tile servers, that
would be great!
If this is not the right mailing list to ask, I'd appreciate if you could
direct me to the correct one.
Thank you for your help.
Regards
Peter

Subject: selective tile generation for higher zoom levels
To: tile-serving at openstreetmap.org
Hi Guys,
I am building the tile server based on the same components as openstreetmap
(osm2pgsql, mapnik, mod-tile, renderd). It would server the tiles for the
entire world.
I'd like to pre-generate the tiles efficiently. My understanding is that
for openstreetmap servers you do not generate tiles for entire world at
higher zoom levels but only for the "interesting areas". Where interesting
areas are those that people like to zoom in.
I wonder if you could share bbox(s) or list of tiles you generate for zoom
levels 12 and up?
Thank you for your help.
Regards
Peter
