Just to simplify this down to a minimal command, can you verify that the error still occurs with

```
osm2pgsql -d gis --style default.style --number-processes 1 tests/liechtenstein-2013-08-03.osm.pbf
```

`default.style` and `tests/liechtenstein-2013-08-03.osm.pbf` are part of the git repo.
