Normally, I'd recommend to open one issue per feature request. But let's be real, at this point in the development it is not exactly helpful to open dozens of feature requests for some application the flex output was never intended for. It will end up at the very end of the todo list and the issue will just lie dormant for years.

If you want to have a loader for the API DB, write a special application using libosmium directly. It will be easier as you don't need to work around the quirks of another program and faster because you don't  need half the features of osm2pgsql for that particular task.
