Oliver has done a lot of cool things for and with tiles at home (he
invented the thing if I'm not mistaken), and probably never expected
that running tiles at home and tending to servers and processes would be as
demanding as writing the stuff in the first place.

He said in a recent post that he'd be happy if a few more people would
help run the server, so he's aware of the problem and does not intend to
stand in anybody's way.

We only have to find a good way to share t at h maintenance work - on dev,
currently, or on other servers in the future - between a few people, and
everbody is going to be happy. Oliver can then continue to contribute to
t at h on his own time as he did in the past, without having to bother too
much about what the servers are currently doing or not doing, and if
he's away for a week or two we wouldn't even notice. New server "admins"
will hopefully also bring in some optimization knowledge, and be able to
find the weak spots in t at h.

All this can be fixed with a little SQL juggling. It really isn't as if
the whole system is broken.

What about this deal: I will ask OJW if he makes me one of the deputy
server admin for tiles at home, and in return YOU will do the same ;-) that
way, you will not be able to complain in the future as you are partly
responsible. Sounds great, doesn't it?

Only drawback would be that we'd have to find somebody to join the team
who works during the day.

Bye
Frederik
