I don't know a lot but you will want to look at the "libpango" package
which provides font rendering to Inkscape. Different (or differently
configured) "libpango" versions may lead to different looks even if
fonts and Inkscape are identical; libpango seems to have some
configuration options (/etc/pango and /etc/defoma/config/).
