I would vote for the icon on the right. For me the space between "S" and 
border in the left symbol is too small.

I wanted to render a sample with the new symbol but now have another issue.

Is there a simple way to have the symbol rendered in the original 
resolution?
Or just submit the changes and make this way batik available again?


BTW: On my setup original symbol was displayed different.
In Inkscape 0.46 the S was aligned top, batik browser managed to load 
the file after changing the version to 1.2, but displayed a green box on 
top of everything starting from the place where the S should have been.
